$59 Million for a House with No Name?

That’s right: Late billionaire John Kluge’s Palm Beach estate – known as “Casa Sin Nombre” – is on the block for $59 mil. It’s currently the priciest parcel up for purchase in La Playa de Las Palmas, and Kluge gifted this property to his alma mater, Columbia University, by bequest in 2007.

New Study: Direct Mail Drives Donation Better Than E-Mail

The national Durham+Co study conducted in 2010 by the Campbell Rinker research firm has found that response to direct mail donation appeals outran response to e-mail appeals 14% to 6%, respectively.

I’m not surprised by the results, but I do think fundraisers should pay attention to them.

AHP Survey: Tax Code Changes Bad News for Nonprofits

The results of the survey conducted by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) in February 2011 indicate that most respondents feel more or less strongly that pending tax code changes, which include significant reduction in tax incentives for charitable giving, will negatively impact their fundraising programs.  Read more »
